TOP 4 myths about veneers
TOP 4 myths about veneers
1. Veneers lead to the complete destruction of teeth
Before installing veneers, almost the same thing happens as when installing metal-free crowns. Teeth are pre-sharpened, dentists check for the absence of pathologies or caries in the oral cavity.
If caries is suddenly detected, then treatment is mandatory. Sealed linings fully limit the penetration of pathogenic bacteria into the teeth. They also save teeth from plaque and lactic acid exposure in the future.
2. Veneers can cause bad breath
The main reason why a smell can appear in the oral cavity is the accumulation of food residues between the teeth. However, the veneers fit so tightly to the teeth that they exclude the possibility of accumulation of food residues. Veneers are fixed with special dental cement. But even in this case, do not neglect the generally accepted rules of oral hygiene.
3. Walking with veneers is inconvenient
There may be slight discomfort in the oral cavity during the first 1-2 days after the veneer installation. The reason for this may be small cement residues between the teeth. However, as soon as the doctor removes the remnants, the discomfort completely disappears.
4. Instead of teeth – veneers!
Many people believe that with the help of veneers, you can restore lost teeth. I have to disappoint you: in the absence of teeth, the veneer installation is simply impossible. Veneers can only be installed on your teeth, despite their imperfections: chips or other defects.
