What implantation is needed for?
Implantation is necessary when replacing defects in the area of removed teeth.
Previously, when we did not have such technology, we made bridge-like dentures when removing teeth. It was necessary to make the adjacent teeth next to the removed tooth into crowns and put so-called bridges on them.
The disadvantage of this procedure is completely removing the nerve in neighboring teeth. Thus, the teeth were no longer alive.
After tooth extraction, it is necessary to replace the defect. Why? Because either the neighboring teeth begin to shift towards the defect or antagonists go down, which often leads to new problems.
With the possibility of implantation, the situation changed for the better because living teeth and their nerves remain alive and untouched.
We install one implant in the place where the tooth is missing. Then we replace the implant with a crown after integration (engraftment) and thereby locally replace the defect without injuring neighboring healthy teeth if it concerns single implantation.
